Cause of death for Somers was not immediately apparent.

Somers had his heyday in wrestling back in the 1980s with the AWA, where he was a two-time tag team champion, once with "Playboy" Buddy Rose and once with Soldat Ustinov. He is also a two-time heavyweight champion, once winning the NWA Western States heavyweight title, and one winning the AIWF heavyweight title.

We send our thoughts and best wishes to Somers' friends and family in this difficult time.
