Derek Brunson (18-5) continued his rampage across the middleweight division with a devastating knockout of former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida (22-8) in his return to the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 119.

Brunson was tentative with his strikes, and when he found an opening, he put the former champ to sleep.

It was Machida's first return to the Octagon in two years. The loss was Machida's third consecutive.

Brunson won his second consecutive bout and called out former champion Luke Rockhold following the win.
