For the second year in a row, the Dallas Cowboys are facing punishment for having several of their players suspended by the NFL.

As pointed out by Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, the Cowboys face a fine for the NFL for having three of their players suspended since the league year started. The Cowboys also have three other players potentially facing suspension — Ezekiel Elliott, Nolan Carroll and Damien Wilson — which could bring a fine for the Cowboys up to $500,000.

Dallas faces the penalty as part of the league's remittance policy, which fines teams based on their how many of their players violate league rules. The Cowboys incurred the same penalty last year after the suspensions of Rolando McClain, Randy Gregory and Demarcus Lawrence.

Latest in Ezekiel Elliott saga

The NFL has still yet to rule after reportedly concluding their investigation into Ezekiel Elliott.

Elliott must now wait for the NFL's ruling on his domestic violence allegation. Elliott has not been charged in connection to those allegations, but reports are that the NFL is still considering a short suspension for Elliott for what may be perceived as a pattern of behavior.

After a standout career with Ohio State, Elliott was taken with the No. 4 pick of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Cowboys. Elliott rushed for 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns in his first season, losing out the Offensive Rookie of the Year award to teammate Dak Prescott.
