Dakereon Joyner formally slashed the number of options in his recruiting process to just two in early May and, now, the time of his commitment has arrived. On Father's Day, Joyner will choose between South Carolina and N.C. State for his next step as a football player and student and, in advance of that announcement, it appears that a big-time favorite has emerged.

247Sports' Crystal Ball predictions favor South Carolina by a whopping 95 percent clip and, while they have been proven to be wrong in the past, that is a real indication of strength for the Gamecocks. It should be noted, though, and Joyner recently responded to the notion that South Carolina was a lead based on the Crystal Ball, in speaking to Josh Kendall of The State.

"Everyone has their own opinions," Joyner said. "Why do they feel like that? I don't know. I didn't give anybody a reason to feel that way."

Still, it isn't a surprise to anyone that the Gamecocks would take the lead, as Joyner hails from North Charleston (S.C.) and it has long been conventional wisdom that he would end up in Columbia. The four-star dual-threat quarterback ranks as the No. 4 overall player from South Carolina and the No. 10 overall dual-threat quarterback nationally.

The entire recruiting world will be watching Dakereon Joyner on Father's Day and one program will be quite happy with his announcement.
