According to 247Sports, Johnson has a visit planned to both Notre Dame and Iowa in July, and then he is expected to make his decision. He's a class of 2018 recruit.
Johnson said the coaching continuity at Iowa is a big factor in his interest with the Hawkeyes.
"It's a special place," said Johnson of Iowa. "There are lots of special people there. Coach [Kirk] Ferentz is great. I know he's been there a long time and he and the coaches aren't going anywhere. It's a great staff. I know I can come in, play right away, and make an impact."
Iowa was the favorite to land Johnson until Notre Dame offered him on May 4. Johnson is from Indianapolis, Indiana.
"Man, the history behind Notre Dame is something else," said Johnson. "It's a special place as well. I know that I can also come in and make an impact as a freshman. There is also that chance to come in and represent my home state. That's a big factor for me."
Johnson is the No. 4 player from the state of Indiana, according to 247Sports. He is also the No. 31 cornerback.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball predicts Johnson will select Notre Dame.
