I’ll never forget how upset I was on my day of college graduation. While many were throwing their hats in the air in traditional graduation style, I was nearly crying. I think I knew that I had just spend what would easily be the best four years of my life and frankly I was extremely upset that it was ending. I wasn’t excited at the prospect of having to find a job, live on my own, and be an adult. I just think at that time I had a pretty realistic picture that real life wouldn’t even come close to college life.
Here I am nearly 20 years later and I was 100% right. Being a father and husband has been incredible and I love it. But nothing, and I mean nothing will ever be as free and reckless a life as the one I lead in college. Again, not taking away from my life now, just saying.
Speaking of college graduation, it would have been nice if I at least had a sense of humor about it all. If only I had shown my love for Seinfeld and put a funny pun on my graduation cap, things might have been different. I think this girl nailed it were her “Game of Loans” cap. Nicely done and yes, you’re spot on!
