Former Kansas one-and-done Cliff Alexander is joining the New Orleans Pelicans after a stint with the Portland Trailblazers and more recently the Brooklyn Nets as well as their Long Island G-League affiliate. Now, he's getting another chance to play as the Pelicans have signed him to a deal.

The 6-foot-9 Alexander was a five-star recruit in the 2014 class and was ranked as the No. 3 overall recruit in the country for the class according to ESPN. He only stayed at Kansas for a year and averaged about 7 points and 5 rebounds a game. That, coupled with NCAA issues and an injury he suffered during a workout, forced him to go undrafted in 2015.
Alexander will have to compete with fellow Jayhawk Cheick Diallo as well as Omer Asik and Alexis Ajinca for back up big man minutes.
