Isaiah Thomas did what many could not even imagine on Sunday afternoon in participating in Game 1 of a first round series against the Chicago Bulls. The Boston Celtics point guard suffered the tragic loss of his younger sister over the weekend and, with that in mind, it was both brave impressive that Thomas elected to play as his squad opened the 2017 NBA Playoffs.

However, TNT analyst Charles Barkley did not necessarily see it that way.

Barkley on Isaiah Thomas:

"I'm uncomfortable with him crying on the sidelines like that... it's a bad look." 😒pic.twitter.com/duj61ZXGdE

Here are Barkley's comments from TNT's pregame show:

"I'm not feeling comfortable with him sitting on the sideline crying like that. That makes me uncomfortable because that tells me he's not in shape to play. I don't know how this night is going to turn out. But to be sitting on the sideline a few minutes before the game, crying, that makes me uncomfortable for him. That's just not a good look, in my personal opinion."

It should be noted that the broadcast displayed images of Thomas during Boston's shootaround a few hours before tip-off and, well, Barkley was wrong about that anyway. Still, it isn't the best look to interject any sort of discomfort in with this situation given what Thomas was going through and the internet quickly came to the defense of the diminutive point guard.

Unfortunately, Thomas and the Celtics fell to the Bulls in the game despite what was a showing from Thomas that won't soon be forgotten. This round certainly went to the active player, as the former player looked silly on television.
