One of the most famous Seminoles to ever play football at the university only played in four career games. But, Burt Reynolds is an icon revered by Noles everywhere. His return to campus was a huge deal.
Reynolds planted the spear before the Boston College game to a loud applause.
Reynolds played for the Noles back in the mid 1950s. His career ended after he suffered a knee injury. When Reynolds was a student, his roommate for a time was ESPN college football analyst Lee Corso.
According to NFL.com, Reynolds, 78, played high school football in West Palm Beach, Fla., and among his best-known movies are "Deliverance," "The Longest Yard," "Smokey and the Bandit," "Semi-Tough" and "Boogie Nights."
