The Week 5 Associated Press poll has been released, and while it's a lot of the same at the top, we have a bunch of teams in new spots thanks to the two blowouts on Saturday night in the Pac-12.
The first one was Utah's unexpected 62-20 thrashing of Oregon, which came after Utah was listed as a 12-point underdog. The victory moved Utah from No. 18 up to No. 10, giving the Utes increased odds at making the college football playoff. Utah also got one first-place vote for their efforts.
The other major Pac-12 blowout — UCLA's 56-30 win over Arizona — has also affected the rankings, as UCLA jumped from No. 9 to No. 7. Arizona — along with Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Oregon, and BYU — dropped out of the poll, allowing for newcomers Mississippi State, Michigan, Cal, and Florida.
