Dykes retired as Texas Tech's winningest coach at 82-67-1 over 13 seasons.

The former Big 12 Coach of the Year coached for more than 40 years combined in the college and high school ranks.

Dykes was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 2008. He is the father of Sonny Dykes, the offensive analyst at TCU.

Our thoughts are with the Texas legend and his family.
