According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Honma's feet got caught in the ropes while taking the move, which caused him to land directly on his head. Homna reportedly was unresponsive as he was stretchered out of the ring and taken to the hospital.
Details are limited on the severity of the injury, with NJPW releasing a statement saying that Honma suffered damage to his cervical vertebrae, which could indicate a broken neck. Honma has been taken off scheduled events for the time being.
