Calvin Anderson, one of the most coveted graduate transfers on the market, has become smitten with the Auburn Tigers.
"I think they helped themselves greatly. I already thought pretty highly of Auburn and I didn't know much about it, and now that I know a lot more than I did, I think they went from being great to more great," Anderson said to SEC Country. "For placements and all that, I got to think through it, but I think they certainly — it's certainly pluses. So, how many pluses, I'll figure out, but certainly pluses."
Anderson was a three-year starter for the Rice Owls. Having NFL aspirations, after discussing it with his father, he realized the best choice was to join a power program to showcase his skills.
Recently, he noted his top options as Michigan, Texas, Auburn, Oklahoma and TCU.
For what it is worth, he previously set a deadline to make his decision by March 25, but adds that he'll likely make his decision before then. So it looks like one of those schools will get a nice spring time bonus for their squad.
At the time of this writing, though, it does appear like the Auburn Tigers did some good work in convincing the kid he should transfer to their program.
