West Virginia's Josh Lambert had about as good of a season as any college kicker ever has. He led the nation in made field goals (30) — one shy of the all-time record — and set an NCAA record for attempts (39). In yesterday's Liberty Bowl, Lambert was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, but it was his third field goal attempt that was the most painful.
Lambert took a shot from a Texas A&M to his, uh, groin and went down.
The Aggies were flagged for roughing the kicker and West Virginia got a first down out of the play, but weren't able to convert it into a touchdown. Lambert came back onto the field and nailed the 31-yard attempt. His twitter feed after the game was pretty funny.
