Aljamain Sterling (14-3) picked the most inopportune time to shoot for a take down against Marlon Moraes (20-5) at UFC Fight Night 123, catching a knee to the jaw and getting knocked out cold.
Aljamain Sterling was transported to a local hospital for “precautionary measures,” according to his coach Ray Longo. No other update at this time.

Backstage, Sterling was able to walk, according to his team, but went to the hospital on a stretcher, again, for precautionary reasons.

Sterling and Moraes sprawled on the mat before getting to their feet in an attempt to throw hands. That didn't end how Sterling had hoped, as he was finished just a minute and five seconds into the bout. After the loss and during the replay, Sterling remained knocked out cold, as noted on the broadcast.
He tweeted after the loss.
Hats off to Marlon. Thought I timed the TD perfectly and he was able to land a nasty knee. Sucks to be the nail, but this is the fight game. I'm ok for all those asking 🙏🏾

Luckily, it seems as though Sterling will be just fine.
