The most unlikely player outperformed Deshaun Watson at the NFL Combine

There are plenty of people who believe that Deshaun Watson is the best quarterback in this year's NFL Draft, but there's one QB who outperformed him at almost every major drill at the NFL Combine. There are plenty of people who believe that Deshaun Watson is the best quarterback in this year's NFL Draft, but there's one QB who outperformed him at almost every major drill at the NFL Combine. Tennessee's Josh Dobbs had the better measurables at the Combine and looked like he could be moving up the draft board.

Here are some of the drill comparisons between Watson and Dobbs:

40-yard dash

Watson: 4.66 seconds
Dobbs: 4.64 seconds

Vertical jump

Watson: 32.5 inches
Dobbs: 33 inches

Long jump

Watson: 119 inches
Dobbs: 122 inches

20-yard shuttle

Watson:4.31 seconds
Dobbs: 4.31 seconds

While those factors may not make Dobbs a clear cut above Watson, he has been receiving some serious praise from ESPN analysts Louis Riddick —- a former front office man for the Eagles and Redskins —- and Todd McShay. The latter has Dobbs moving into his top QB group now after an impressive Senior Bowl and Combine workouts.

"I think with guys like Dobbs continuing to excel in the pre-draft process, and (Nathan) Peterman, (and) Davis Webb showing some positive signs coming out of Cal," McShay said, "I think it's a deeper group than maybe we originally anticipated."

Dobbs was named Athlon's 2016 SEC Offensive Player of the Year while posting 3,781 total yards of offense last season. He also joined Mississippi State's Dak Prescott and Florida's Tim Tebow as the only SEC quarterbacks in history to record 15 passing TDs and 10 rushing TDs in multiple seasons.
