
The recruitment of the 2018 class is fully underway, but there are some schools who are looking to get ahead on some other classes. It looks like a couple of schools are trying to sway the son of legendary running back Emmitt Smith to join them already despite him being a member of the far future class of 2020.

However, junior is trying to separate himself from pops as he told 247Sports.
"It's not really footsteps thing with my dad," said the younger Smith. "But he's been a big influence on my life and with football. He always tells me to work hard and something good will come of it."
The 5'10", 180-pound receiver isn't ranked yet as that class has not been evaluated. However, the Dallas native already has interest from the likes of Stanford and Arkansas. That will certainly get him some separation from his old man.
