The curious case of former Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Richie Incognito keeps getting stranger by the day. Being arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and threats at an Arizona funeral home is one thing. Knowing the reason why he was arrested goes down a completely different path.

Incognito, a four-time NFL Pro Bowl selection, was arrested for an incident at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary in Scottsdale, Arizona while making funeral arrangements for his late father. According to the original police statement, Incognito was upset with the funeral home's staff, began to damage property, and at several points threatened to retrieve guns from his vehicle and return to shoot the employees.

It gets even darker.

According to the arrest report obtained by USA Today, employees told Scottsdale Police that 35-year-old Incognito wanted his father's head cut off for research. He also walked through the funeral home punching caskets and throwing things.

All he was supposed to do was sign cremation papers, per the report, and it turned into a major scene.

Incognito changed his mind after signing the papers to have his father buried and wanted to view more caskets. He indicated he wanted one particular military casket, but then he picked up an urn and slammed it on top of the casket, according to witnesses.

Here is surveillance footage of the 6-foot-3, 320-pound lineman at a nearby pizza parlor before his arrest, where the owner kicked him out, too:

This is not the first incident this offseason, either. Shortly after his release from the Bills in May, Incognito was detained by police and underwent an involuntary medical evaluation after allegedly throwing a dumbbell at someone inside a Boca Raton, Florida gym.

The free agent lineman was looking to make a comeback to the NFL, but as more details emerge with this, the more the odds stack against him.
