Could more than Auburn, Florida State, and Georgia still be in the running for five-star quarterback Justin Fields? It looks like that may just be the case.
In an interview with 247Sports, Fields' father — Ivant — named Alabama, LSU, Oregon, and USC as teams that Fields still has communication with. The elder Fields did not say how involved those teams may be going forward, but the fact that they have been able to maintain communication should be a good sign for those schools.
Auburn, Florida State, and Georgia are still seen as the front runners for Fields (6-foot-3, 220 pounds, Kennesaw, Ga.), with the Seminoles generally holding the edge out of those three.
Fields has been the hottest player in recruiting ever since he decommitted from Penn State a few months ago. Fields has since ascended to the No. 1 recruiting ranking at 247Sports and ESPN.
