Before he ran the 40-yard dash at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Alabama Crimson Tide defensive tackle Quinnen Williams ate a few Oreos and proved why he belongs in the discussion as the top prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft. At 6-foot-4 and likely a Twinkie away from 300 pounds, the man knows what he needs to give him the best football fuel.
In many ways, Williams is a simple man. He loves football, punishing any opponent lined up in his way. He also loves food, obviously, and it turns out out he's a pretty cheap date.
When the San Francisco 49ers met with Williams at Alabama's Pro Day earlier this week in Tuscaloosa, they wanted to take him to dinner. But instead of choosing a fancy steakhouse — something he will be able to afford on a daily basis once the millions of dollars hits his bank account — he chose to go to IHOP.
That's right, one of the best players in college football last season, chose to have one of the biggest interviews of his life with Niners general manager John Lynch and vice president of player personnel Adam Peters at the International House of Pancakes, according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows.

This is seriously phenomenal. It also proves how down-to-earth the 21-year-old defensive tackle is. Quinnen Williams doesn't need any special treatment. He just needs some comfort food.
An unanimous All-American in 2018, Williams recorded 71 tackles, including 19.5 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks to help the Crimson Tide win the SEC title and earn a berth in the College Football Playoff national championship game.
If Quinnen Williams wasn't already your favorite football player, this should seal the deal. Don't be surprised if the defensive lineman gets some free pancakes and endorsement money out of the deal, too.
