It's been nearly 10 years since the Punjabi Prison match was on WWE television, and it will return on July 23, 2017 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when Jinder Mahal puts his WWE Championship on the line against Randy Orton.

The last Punjabi Prison match involved Batista defeating the Great Khali for the World Heavyweight Championship on July 10, 2007 at No Mercy. The only other Punjabi Prison match in WWE history involved The Undertaker defeating the Big Show on July 23, 2006 at the Great American Bash.
Mahal won the WWE Championship from Orton at Backlash back in May. He defeated Orton in a rematch at Money in the Bank nearly two weeks ago.
