WWE NXT tag team champion Kyle O'Reilly shared a tragic note on Sunday that his mother had passed away following her bout with cancer:

"On Wednesday November 29, Heaven gained another angel. After a short yet courageous battle with Cancer my beloved Mother has passed away. She was the sweetest and kindest woman I've ever known and encouraged me to chase my dreams. She was a devoted wife, Mother and nurse who dedicated her life to caring for those in need. I'm so proud to be your son. Rest In Peace Janie Elizabeth Greenwood aka Mom. "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always..."

She always taught me "the show must go on". It was important for her and my family that I fulfill my professional obligations. https://t.co/4AWDTtkXn5

Former Ring of Honor World Champion, O'Reilly, joined his former reDRagon partner, Bobby Fish, as one of the most recent NXT signees when he debuted in August.

In addition to once holding the world title in ROH, O'Reilly is a three-time tag champion.

O'Reilly is a member of the Undisputed Era, a faction formed with Fish, O'Reilly and fellow former Ring of Honor champion Adam Cole.

O'Reilly, Cole and Fish took part in the return of War Games at NXT TakeOver back in mid-November.

The duo of Fish and O'Reilly recently won the NXT Tag Team Championship at NXT tapings.

Our thoughts and prayers are with O'Reilly and his family at this time.
