Usually when you see stories of teams offering football players in middle school, it's a case of "yeah, this kid will be a great prospect down the road".
Kiyaunta Goodwin might make a great prospect now.
Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports recently brought word that Kentucky had offered Goodwin, who is a 6-foot-6, 345-pound offensive tackle that's currently in middle school.

WLKY out of Louisville profiled Goodwin earlier this year, mentioning that Goodwin had also heard from schools like Florida State, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Purdue. As of now, though, it appears that the Wildcats are the first to extend an actual offer.
Goodwin, who is potentially still growing, also mentioned in that interview that he hopes to study engineering in college.
