Four-star linebacker King Mwikuta celebrated his birthday by announcing his commitment to Alabama on Friday morning.
"I just like the school and who they are," Mwikuta told BamaOnLine. "It doesn't get no better than to be coached by Coach (Nick) Saban. I like Coach Tosh (Lupoi) and Coach (Derrick) Ansley over there, too. Coach Tosh is just cool, man. He reminds me of my head coach. Coach Ansley tells you how it is and what it's going to be. He doesn't sugarcoat it. He's like Coach Saban."
Mwikuta chose the Tide over Florida State, Georgia and Miami, as well as offers from 14 other schools.
The Georgia native made several visits to Alabama's campus during the past year and plans on spending the upcoming weekend in Tuscaloosa.
"Coach Saban, what isn't there to like about him?" he said. "From how focused he is in what he has to do that day, in that moment, and at the time of the day. There's just something about him. I can't explain it."
Mwikuta, a 6-foot-4, 232-pounder, ranks as the No. 6 outside linebacker and the No. 70 overall prospect for the 2019 national recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite.
