LSU coach Ed Orgeron added a third former NFL assistant to his coaching staff on Tuesday.

Jerry Sullivan, a longtime NFL receivers coach, will serve as a consultant for the Tigers, the school confirmed to Ross Dellenger of  The Advocate. Sullivan, 73, will work with LSU receivers coach Mickey Joseph.

Sullivan, like other "consultants", will be restricted from working hands on with players on the field, as well as leading off-field meetings. Instead, his role will consist of working with coaches on game-planning, film study and other related tasks. Sullivan joins a staff that already includes former Saints special teams coordinator Greg McMahon as a consultant and former longtime NFL assistant Bobby April.

Sullivan had previously worked at LSU as a receivers coach from 1984-90.

Sullivan's NFL experience includes working as receivers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012-16, as well as holding the same position with the San Francisco 49ers (2005-10), Miami Dolphins (2004), Arizona Cardinals (2001-02), Detroit Lions (1997-2000) and San Diego Chargers (1992-96). He had also worked as the offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals in 2003.
