Apparently what Jerry Jones saw in limited action in the regular-season finale was enough for the Dallas Cowboys owner to feel comfortable enough to be prepared to move to Tony Romo if necessary.
During a sit-down interview with NFL Network's Michael Irvin, Jones discussed the option of bringing Romo onto the field during Sunday's tilt with the Green Bay Packers:
"Dak (Prescott), you see a quarterback that plays to the strengths and to the best of our team," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told NFL Network's Michael Irvin in a piece that aired on GameDay Morning First Sunday. "Should that not be there, then we have a backup quarterback that's got a good chance to do some good things out there too."
From a quarterback rating perspective, Prescott has been the third most efficient quarterback in the NFL this season, throwing 23 touchdowns to just four interceptions in an outstanding rookie season.
Romo didn't play in any games this season aside from the finale against the Philadelphia Eagles, completing three of four passes for 29 yards and a touchdown.
We'll see if head coach Jason Garrett makes any drastic decisions Sunday afternoon when the game kicks off at 4:40 p.m. ET.
