Four-star wide receiver Jacob Copeland made Florida fans very happy after his commitment to the Gators during ESPN's live broadcast of National Signing Day on Wednesday.

However, his mother — who was wearing an Alabama sweater and Tennessee hat — seemed to be less enthused by his decision, walking away from the table after he placed the Florida hat on his head.

Copeland didn't divulge into why his mother walked off or seemed upset about his decision, instead kept his composure.

ESPN's Rod Gillmore criticized Copeland's mother immediately after the announcement concluded.

"That's just wrong," Gillmore said. "It is not about the parents and the sooner they figure that out the better off everyone will be. That was just ridiculous. Quite sad to be honest with you and the young man deserves better than that."

Copeland chose the Gators over the Tennessee and Alabama, either of whom his mother apparently preferred based on how she was dressed and her reaction.

The four-star wide receiver's mother did hug her son minutes later, despite her seemingly obvious displeasure about his decision.

Copeland ranks as the No. 9 wide receiver, No. 10 player from the state of Florida and the No. 54 overall prospect for the 2018 national recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite.
