One towering presence on the graduate transfer market is heading to the Big Ten.
According to Mike Carmin of the Journal & Courier, 6-foot-8 offensive lineman David Steinmentz is heading to Purdue after transferring from Rhode Island. As a graduate transfer, Steinmetz should be eligible to play immediately.

Per the Journal & Courier, Steinmetz started 31 games for Rhode Island over the past three season, with most of his playing time coming in at right tackle. It is expected that Steinmetz, thanks to his combination of size and experience, will be in competition to start for the Boilermakers.
Purdue will hope Steinmetz can be a boost to an offense that ranked 80th in yards per game and 82nd in sacks allowed last season. Overall, Purdue was 3-9 on the season, but will hope to improve under new head coach Jeff Brohm.
