Here's the answer one NFL GM had on why he didn't sign Colin Kaepernick

The New York Jets signed soon-to-be 38-year-old quarterback Josh McCown to a one-year, $6 million deal, and general manager Mike Maccagnan said he thinks McCown is a better scheme fit than Kaepernick.

Asked Maccagnan about Colin Kaepernick. He was talked about, but McCown a better scheme fit.

McCown has never started a full season, and his career completion percentage (59.1 percent) is slightly lower than Kaepernick's (59.8 percent). McCown has thrown 79 touchdowns and 69 interceptions, while Kaepernick has thrown 72 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.

Kaepernick's numbers have dropped the last few seasons, but it is peculiar he is without a job while QB's such as McCown, Brian Hoyer and Mark Sanchez have all signed deals with teams this offseason.

Kaepernick's national anthem protests might have something to do with why teams are avoiding him. Kaepernick kneeled down in protest of the national anthem last season before games, which caused an uproar and sent shockwaves through the league.

An opportunity might arise for Kaepernick in the near future, but it's still surprising he isn't with a team yet.
