The comments came after he mentioned the Jerry Sandusky scandal, and Johnson claimed this win was a "milestone in the healing process."
Johnson's comments were heavily criticized on social media, and deservedly so.

Johnson likely meant no harm, but they still should've been avoided. The victims, their families and Penn State as a university might not ever fully recover from that scandal. A conference championship is a great thing for the school, but it doesn't fix anything that happened when Sandusky was on campus.
