Defensive end Byron Cowart, defensive back Carlton Davis, wide receiver Ryan Davis and defensive back Jeremiah Dinson were arrested on a single charge each of second-degree possession of marijuana. Head coach Gus Malzahn said that he is "aware of the situation and we will handle this matter appropriately."

Cowart was a five-star recruit and played in all 13 games as a freshman in 2013, Carlton Davis was named to the SEC All-Freshman team after leading all the freshmen in the conference with three interceptions. The receiver Davis, also a true freshman, didn't have a reception in 2015 but ran the ball twice for 20 yards.
