According to the Associated Press, former TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin has been charged with assault from an incident before last season's Alamo Bowl. His current arraignment date is set for August 1.
The incident happened just a few days before the January 2 Alamo Bowl against Oregon, where Boykin was arrested after an alleged altercation at a bar. The incident reportedly had Boykin facing an assault against a police officer charge — a felony — but that does not appear to be part of the indictment.

The incident left Boykin suspended from the bowl game, where TCU rallied from a 31-0 deficit to win 47-41 in a three-overtime thriller.
Boykin entered the NFL Draft after the season, where he went undrafted. He later signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Boykin threw for 3,575 yards and 31 touchdowns in his senior season with the Horden Frogs.
