Florida receiver Raphael Andrades is still on campus, but is no longer listed on the football team's official roster according to Rivals. Andrades was a two-sport star coming out of high school as he played baseball as well and was actually drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 36th round in 2012.
A UF spokesman confirmed that the change had happened recently. Andrades had been weighing moving back to baseball as he was seldom used on the football field. His best season was probably his freshman season in 2012 when he started three games and appeared in nine. He had five yards on two receptions.
As a redshirt junior this past season under first-year head coach Jim McElwain, the 6-foot, 203-pound Andrades appeared in seven games primarily as a special teams contributor on kickoff and punt return coverage. He finished with one tackle.
The Gators have plenty of receivers waiting in the wings both as returners and new faces from the most recent recruiting class. Florida added early enrollees Josh Hammond, Dre Massey and Freddie Swain to the position group at the top of the spring semester, while also landing Tyrie Cleveland and Rick Wells —- both four-star recruits —- this past recruiting cycle.
