Kentucky is going to have a bunch more freshman on its basketball team this season —- no real shocker there —- but ESPN believes that one of those freshmen will end up becoming the most clutch player on the team. Returning players like Isaiah Briscoe or Derek Willis are likely not to start let alone get a chance to be clutch in a real game.

ESPN's C.L. Brown believes that out of all the freshmen heading to Lexington, guard Malik Monk will get the opportunity to become the Wildcats' "most clutch" player should the situation arise. This is what he said in ESPN's article on clutch players:
Most teams wouldn't hand the ball to a freshman before he has ever played a game in college. UK isn't most programs, though. In back-to-back games while at Bentonville (Ark.) High School, Monk made consecutive buzzer-beating 3-pointers. Both came while he was double-teamed; he even had to double-clutch on one. He's likely to do it again in the clutch at the next level.

Monk was a McDonald's All-American and even won the three-point contest at the event so he's a legit scorer and if he's going to have the ball in his hands a lot there's no reason to think he won't have the opportunity to shoot the last shot in a game.
