Former Louisville coach Denny Crum is a living legend in the state of Kentucky and so even Wildcats fans will be saddened to hear that he is in the hospital after suffering what doctors believed to be a mild stroke according to WFPL.
The 80-year old is currently undergoing tests at a medical center after he became ill while fishing in Alaska with his wife. He was airlifted to Providence Hospital in Anchorage. Susan Crum says her husband's condition has improved and he could be released from the hospital as early as this weekend.
Crum retired from coaching in 2001 after leading the Cardinals for 30 years and to two national titles in 1980 and 1986. His teams also made it to the Final Four six times while he won 15 different regular season conference tiles in the Metro Conference and Missouri Valley Conference.
