The West Virginia Mountaineers are unexpectedly losing some depth at the quarterback position after it was discovered Cody Saunders had some sort of medical condition. The school announced that the redshirt freshman's playing career was over and that is what a reporter from the Charleston Gazette-Mail is reporting as well:
WVU QB Cody Saunders, who redshirted as true freshman last season, can no longer play position due to medical issue. Will remain in school.

The 6'2", 210-pound dual threat QB redshirted last season and was a top 20 player at his position in the recruiting class of 2016. He wasn't expected to start this year though as Florida transfer Will Grier was expected to take over the reins of the offense.
