Count former LSU defensive tackle and current ESPN analyst Booger McFarland as one of those who is currently unimpressed with new Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher.
In a tweet on Sunday morning, McFarland said that Fisher did the "most disappointing coaching job" in college football this past season with the Seminoles, seemingly criticizing both Fisher and Texas A&M for the 10-year, $75 million contract that Fisher received from the school a couple of weeks ago.

The criticism from McFarland definitely has some validity, as the Seminoles were 5-6 this season under Fisher before he jumped to College Station. Florida State did lose starting quarterback Deondre Francois for the year in the season's first game against Alabama, but the team's problems were far beyond that as the Florida State offensive line an absolute mess for the second straight year. Florida State failed to score 30 points in any ACC game this season, which is a bit jarring for a team with an offensive-minded coach that hadn't finished lower than sixth in recruiting between 2014 and 2017.
The flip side of that, obviously: Fisher had an 82-23 record in his eight seasons in Tallahassee, including a national championship and six 10-plus win seasons. Texas A&M has only had one 10-win or better season since 2000, which was the memorable Johnny Manziel freshman season in 2012.
Florida State — who has since hired Oregon's Willie Taggart to replace Fisher — will play Southern Miss in the Independence Bowl on Dec. 27 to close their season. Texas A&M finishes the year with Wake Forest in the Belk Bowl on Dec. 29. Jimbo Fisher is not coaching in that game, as interim head coach Jeff Banks will be on the sidelines for the Aggies.
