Today's college football throwbacks takes us back to the days before Nick Saban and before high definition video. In 2005, Alabama wide receiver Tyrone Prothro made one of the greatest catches you'll ever see on a football field.
In fact, it might be the greatest catch in Alabama Crimson Tide and college football history.

Tyrone Prothro's catch won an ESPY for Best Play in 2006 and has provided a long-standing great memory for Tide fans. "The Catch" is remembered as one of the greatest plays in football history.
Prothro's career-ending leg injury later that year against the Florida Gators required 11 surgeries and was one of the most difficult pills to swallow over the last decade, but his continued involvement in the Tuscaloosa community continues to make Alabama fans proud.
