Well, this perhaps the weirdest sports injury story I've ever heard. Atlanta Braves shortstop Eric Aybar missed Thursday night's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates due to a throat injury which was sustained in the weirdest way possible. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Aybar sustained the injury after having a chicken bone stuck in his throat.

Interim manager Brian Snitker on Thursday said Aybar "looked okay when he left, but he wasn't speaking real well. Let's just hope everything works out all right." per MLB.com's Mark Bowman.
With Aybar out, Atlanta will use Daniel Castro at shortstop and slot him seventh in the order. Hopefully Aybar's injury heals — a throat injury caused from a chicken bone sounds quite painful.
