People dream of things they don’t have and that is normal. Unfortunately, there are some people who seem to never get the satisfaction they desire. They don’t appreciate what they have. They constantly want materialistic things and when they get them, they will want something else. It is a vicious treadmill cycle that never ends. I myself was once stuck on this ideology, until I realized what an idiot I was.
The funniest thing is that I see very wealthy people get stuck in this matrix of materialism. They keep buying expensive homes, cars, jewelry, gadgets, clothes, and etc. What is the end point? Are you going to leave this world with those possessions? Do you buy those things because you’ll “Look cool in front of less fortunate people?” Why not put that money to good use, like helping your fellow human beings?
Once deep pocket individuals realize that they can afford any luxury they desire the next big thing is power. They lust over control, which is like a superpower they want to have and most of the time, money allows them to do that. Let’s say you rule the earth, what’s next? Other planets? You see once you’re on this path, it never ends. The best thing you can do is stray away from this mentality, enjoy your life, and do whatever you love.
I feel very sorry for anyone who works on a job they hate and spend money they don’t have on shit they don’t need. In reality, I think us Americans are among the most unfortunate, not the other way around. We live in a country that measures wealth by material possession and if you don’t see that, you’re bliss. True wealth is not measured in money or status or power. True wealth comes from splendid memories, moments, love, and other feelings we collected along the way.
And one more thing….
