The 2017 NBA Draft finally has its order, as the draft lottery has concluded and the Boston Celtics have been awarded the No. 1 overall in the draft thanks to the old Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett trade with the Brooklyn Nets.
In another big move, the Los Angeles Lakers keep their first-round pick, as they would have lost their selection to the Philadelphia 76ers had their pick fallen outside of the Top 3. Instead, the Lakers will select with the No. 2 overall pick come June 22.
The 76ers, still in the middle of their #TrustTheProcess branded rebuild, will select with the third pick. The full draft order can be seen below.

That's the entire first round of the 2017 NBA Draft after the NBA Lottery which took place on May 16 to decide the top 14 picks. With the Lakers having the ping pong balls swing their way, they get to keep their pick since it's in the top-3, but would have had to convey that pick to the Philadelphia 76ers if it fell outside the first three. Everything else pretty much shook out as expected with the Celtics getting the top pick since they owned the now-unprotected pick from the Nets, who had the worst record in the league.
Former Washington point guard Markelle Fultz is to go first overall in the upcoming draft and that may still very well be the case come June. Other top prospects like UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball, Kentucky power forward De'Aaron Fox, Kansas small forward Josh Jackson and Duke small forward Jayson Tatum are some of the other names expected to be called early in this draft.
