A third former Vanderbilt football player has been convicted of rape following an incident dating back to 2013.
On Friday, former Vandy defensive back Brandon Banks was convicted of the 2013 rape of a female student in the Vanderbilt dorms. Banks was found guilty of one count of aggravated rape and one count of aggravated sexual battery, and the charges carry a minimum sentence of 15 years.
According to NBC Sports, Banks' attorney will likely appeal the conviction.
Banks is the third Vanderbilt player to be convicted in the rape, as Corey Batey and Brandon Vandenburg where found guilty last year. Both Batey and Vanderburg were sentenced to at least 15 years in prison for their crimes.
A fourth player, Jaborian "Tip" McKenzie, is still facing charges for the rape.
