USC is not used to losing talent, but it would seem that's what happening with this latest transfer. Former four-star offensive lineman E.J. Price has decided he will not only transfer, but head cross-country to do so. He tweeted out that he was excited to commit to Kentucky in the protected message.
Here's a photo him on campus with a couple of coaches as well as he seemed to really enjoy the visit:
Price committed to the Wildcats right after the visit so it would seem that that was all it took. The 6'6", 311-pound offensive tackle was the No. 10 offensive tackle in the class of 2016, according to 247Sports. USC coach Clay Helton said that the decision came to proximity to his home in Georgia.
"E.J. has some personal family issues that are going on — a lot of homesickness and missing family really bad," Helton said last September. "With us sitting down and visiting, [we] really felt, mutually, that it was important for him to go find a school that is closer to home, where he can deal with his family."
It looks like Price found a nice new home and one that's close to his family so he can see them more easily as well. He will have to sit out a year per NCAA transfer rules and will be able to play again starting in the 2018 season.
