The Tony Romo saga has gone on for a long time now and it looks like it could be coming closer to an end. That is, according to Boston Globe NFL reporter Ben Volin. He has one source telling him that of the two teams chasing Romo —- the Texans and the Broncos —- have different views on him.
One team views Romo as an absolute necessity while the other thinks he would be a bit of a luxury at this point:
As far as Romo's landing spot, the Broncos and Texans still remain the favorites. But as one league source hypothesized, Romo is more of a luxury for the Broncos, who have two capable quarterbacks in Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch, but a necessity for the Texans, who are starved for playoff success and have a talented roster outside of quarterback.
That's pretty telling and could decide where Romo ultimately ends up should the Cowboys part ways with him and potentially trade him. Most people believe at this point in time that the Cowboys may end up keeping Romo as an insurance policy should Dak Prescott get injured during the season as Prescott is super cheap compared to Romo's $19.6 million dead cap hit that could affect the Cowboys spending down the line.
