
Referees miss calls routinely. It's impossible for them to make every call, and fans are typically too harsh on officials.

However, there are instances where referees blatantly miss calls, and it's understandable when coaches, players and fans get upset. Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was livid at the officials for the bad spot on fourth-and-one, but there was another late hit earlier in the game that occurred right in front of an official.

That play didn't decide the outcome of the game, but it clearly should have been called.
Harbaugh received some backlash after complaining about the officiating on Saturday after Michigan lost to Ohio State 30-27 in double overtime, but he did have a point on a few instances.
