Tennessee Titans' wide receiver Rishard Matthews has made his thoughts on Colin Kaepernick and protesting during the national anthem very clear, but just in case you didn't get the memo, he'll be wearing it all over his cleats this Sunday.
The NFL is taking part in a pretty cool campaign, "My Cause, My Cleats", which is allowing players to customize their cleats with a design supporting a cause or charity they believe in, and Matthews has decided to support Kaepernick — who's still not with an NFL team — with his cleats.
Matthews went into the details of his cleats, via TMZ Sports:
Matthews explained his decision to support Kaep's Know Your Rights Camp ... saying "I don't have a foundation so I have chosen to support my brother (Colin Kaepernick's) foundation."
"He has paid the ultimate sacrifice in order to bring true everyday issues to light."

The wording of Matthews' statement may not resonate well with those who are against the NFL and the player protests happening during the national anthem, especially considering the fact that many feel the protests themselves are disrespectful to the United States military, many of whom have actually paid the ultimate price to protect this country.
In that light, Kaepernick has not paid the ultimate sacrifice, but he has essentially given up his NFL career for a cause that he really believes in — and no matter your thoughts on how he's gone about it, it is tough to deny that he has made some sacrifice in order to stand up for — or kneel — for a cause he feels is bigger than football.
