
Skip Bayless is preparing to bolt from ESPN to Fox Sports, and he'll need a new co-host after leaving Stephen A. Smith at the worldwide leader.
According to Sporting News, Shannon Sharpe has emerged as the leading candidate to sit across from Bayless.
Sharpe spent time as a CBS Sports analyst after his professional career with the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos ended.
Sharpe has appeared on CBS as an analyst and has been a guest on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd," as well as a fill-in for "First Take."

"He's basically been auditioning for Skip — and FS1 — in plain sight," said one source about Sharpe.
A Fox Sports representative declined to comment. Sharpe's agent could not be reached for comment.
As for Sharpe's potential landing spots, he's not giving any information away:
