A lawyer says Aaron Hernandez asked for permission to bunk with another inmate, a request that was initially approved, but later denied, by prison officials.
The Daily Mail said that Larry Army Jr., the managing partner of the Boston law firm of Army & Roche, told the newspaper, in an exclusive interview, that Hernandez wanted to room with his client, Kyle Kennedy. The newspaper reported the request was initially approved, but later denied, because officials didn't want Hernandez conspiring with anyone.
After Hernandez committed suicide, Kennedy was placed on suicide watch himself.
Hernandez left three suicide notes, one each to his daughter and finance, and third that may have been for Kennedy. The Mail reported that a spokesman for Hernandez's lawyer, Jose Baez, said no 'gay love letter' was sent to anyone either 'in or out of prison.'
Hernandez has long been the subject about rumors of his sexuality. Some media reports are couching his supposed relationship with Kennedy by adding "alleged" or "allegedly."
