After an initial report that Charlie Strong had been fired from Texas, multiple reports from ESPN and others came in that Strong had not yet been fired.
Focus on the word "yet".
While ESPN's Brett McMurphy refuted the initial firing report, it now appears that Texas will let Strong finish out the season before the two parties part ways.

That seems kind of cruel, but the writing is definitely on the wall with Strong at this point.
Strong is 16-20 in his time with Texas, and things really started to go sideways after a 1-4 start to the 2015 season. Texas somewhat recovered after an upset of Oklahoma that season, and they finished 5-7 on the year.
Things looked like they were going well at the beginning of the season with an upset of Notre Dame. However, things once again went sideways, with the low-point being a 24-21 loss to a previously 1-9 Kansas team on Saturday.
Is Tom Herman next for the Longhorns? That remains to be seen, but for now, it's looks like the clock is officially ticking for Strong.
