Another poor punter shows what not to do during a kick attempt

Here's an example of what not to do when attempting a punt in a college football game. Portland State punter Hayden Cowden accidentally took a knee while receiving the long snap before getting his attempt during Saturday's game against Oregon State.

Unfortunately for him, a player is ruled down once his knee touches the field in college football.

But that wasn't the only flub involving a punter during Week 1.

Earlier in the day, Wyoming punter Tim Zaleski completely missed on an attempted punt against Iowa.

Not a good day for punters. At least they'll be on SportsCenter, albeit the Not Top 10.

Editor's Note: This story was updated on September 24, 2018 to identify the correct Portland State punter as Hayden Cowden and not Ben Niesner.
